€33 million supporting societal change
In 2025, Œuvre Nationale supported 222 organisations and funded 246 projects for the benefit of Luxembourg society, ranging from support for the most vulnerable to innovative initiatives. A total of €33 million was redistributed, entirely generated from the proceeds of the Loterie Nationale, across five areas of action: Social, Cultural, Environmental, Sports and Health, and Remembrance and Heritage. Particular attention is given across all areas to projects benefiting young people.
Key figures for 2025
- €18.6 million allocated to the National Solidarity Fund and 30 social offices (56.3% of total funds)
- €4 million provided to recurring beneficiaries (12.3%)
- €10.4 million in one-off grants (31.5%), supporting 246 projects out of 375 applications received
A year of initiatives and collaboration
2025 was marked by several key developments: the launch of a new visual identity and a fully redesigned website; stronger environmental engagement through the Greenline and a new reNature call for projects focused on biodiversity; updated definitions of the Environment and Culture fields to better guide project leaders; enhanced collaboration with more than 70 external experts; and two initiatives dedicated to sport and inclusion, with the round table “Sport for All” and the conference “Designing for Diversity”.
A word from the leadership
“In 2025, we continued to build on our commitments: strengthening partnerships, clarifying our priorities and acting where needs are most urgent.
€33 million redistributed represents hundreds of concrete projects and thousands of people supported. Beyond the figures, it is solidarity that is expressed, built and sustained.” – Danièle Wagener, Chair of the Board of Directors
“The 2025 results confirm the strength and relevance of our model: out of 375 applications received, 246 projects were funded, representing an acceptance rate of 66%. With more than half of our funds directed towards the most vulnerable, we remain true to our mission: delivering concrete, measurable and lasting impact.” – Emile Lutgen, Director of the Œuvre Nationale
