The ‘Association des Egyptiens’ has initiated the project “Choukrane” to say “thank you” to the residents of Luxembourg for the welcome that they have received in the past and to help the adaptation of the new arrivals to their host society. This will take place particularly by means of support offered by Arabic-speaking assistants and trainers who are familiar with the culture, customs and traditions of the Middle East.
The project plans to offer collaborative support on a daily basis to asylum seekers and refugees living in the Dudelange shelter, offering aid with activities such as mentoring, the development of intercultural skills, an introduction to the employment market, and the participation of asylum seekers and refugees in volunteer activities.
At a later date, these same activities will be offered in other areas in the south of the country.
