Rhyso – Ma is a multidisciplinary project conceptualized and organized by the Rhysom Danz Kollektiv association, and consists of four sessions of artistic improvisation. Each session is conceived by a curator who invites a number of artists from different disciplines to take part. The aim is to create an improvisation to which both professional artists and the public will contribute.
The goal of the fourth session, which will take place on the 25th of March 2017, is to strengthen social cohesion by means of consideration and exchange on the subject of contact with the Other.
First the curator Catherine Richard will gather stories of migrants, which offer different views of the contact with those who are different to ourselves. Then the first part of the project will be a reading, by an actor, of two or three of these stories, condensed to their essence, which will be interpreted by a pair of dancers.
The second part of the improvisation will be a workshop in which groups of three “amateur” dancers will choose one of the stories from the selection offered and explore, through voice, written words, movement and music, the possibilities offered by the story of their choice.
The third part will be the presentation to the public of the improvisations by the different groups.
The purpose of this session is to use the migrants’ stories and dance that they inspire to create links with, and value the exchange between, the new arrivals, former migrants and the Luxembourgish.
