Launched in October 2025, the " reNature 2 " call for projects successfully mobilised a wide range of organisations and initiatives committed to environmental action across Luxembourg.

At a time when biodiversity continues to face significant pressure, this second edition set out to support local, practical and long-term solutions. Building on the momentum of the first call in 2023 – which enabled the funding of more than 30 impactful projects – Œuvre Nationale sought to back a new generation of initiatives combining innovation, optimism and tangible environmental benefits. The shared goal: fostering locally rooted action that promotes a balanced relationship between people and the natural world.

A total of 59 applications were submitted, addressing diverse challenges such as sustainable agriculture, wildlife habitats, water management, pollinator protection, vegetation restoration and environmental awareness.

Following the jury’s deliberations on 26 January 2026, 28 projects were selected, representing a total investment of €945,167. Given the high quality of the proposals and their strong potential impact, the Board of Directors decided to increase the original budget by €195,167 to ensure full support for all selected initiatives.

Petra Penders, project coordinator at Œuvre Nationale, commented: “The diversity and quality of the applications reflect an exceptional level of collective engagement. The selected projects offer concrete and innovative solutions to restore biodiversity at the local level.”

A 2030 Strategy Focused on Impact

Through reNature 2, Œuvre Nationale continues to advance its long-term strategy aimed at strengthening concrete environmental protection efforts in Luxembourg.

These positive results confirm the importance of supporting local initiatives that create meaningful impact for both our environment and our society.
