In the words of Plato, “If you want to know a people, you have to listen to their music”.
Music, then, is the universal and obstacle-free means of communication that we have chosen to present the culture of the Syrian people to the residents of Luxembourg. It will take the form of a concert in collaboration with Luxembourgish artists. The show will take place on 19 November 2016 at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, and will bring together a choir of Syrian refugees, world-famous soloists like Rasha Rizk and Shadi Ali, among others, and the Luxembourgish pianist David Ianni. The programme will be jointly presented by Serge Tonnar and Lama Alokaili.
The evening’s music will be played by OSO, the “Ornina Syrian Orchestra”, conducted by Shafi Badreddin. The show will be organized by Ornina asbl and the Centre Culturel Syrien asbl.
