The third episode of our 'Hors d'Œuvre' podcast is now online! Discover it now and immerse yourself in an inspiring new project supported by Œuvre Nationale.

In this episode of Hors d'Œuvre, we tackle a subject that is as difficult as it is vital: domestic violence against women. Today, we spotlight ‘Breathing under water’ – a moving first feature film by Luxembourgish director Eric Lamhène. Supported by our stART-up fund in 2019, the film is based on real-life testimonies and sensitively explores the lives of women in care homes.

Eric tells us what inspired him to make this project, while Mrs Marchal, the director of Maison Sichem, talks about her experiences on the ground with the women she supports. They discuss the complexity of domestic violence, the obstacles faced by women seeking help and the role of support structures in Luxembourg.

This episode invites each and every one of us to raise awareness and take action to support women who are victims of domestic violence.
