The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Œuvre Nationale, is launching a call for proposals addressed to all cultural organisations in Luxembourg (public institutions and non-profit cultural associations).

The aim of this call is to strengthen the certified training programme in cultural mediation by offering participants the opportunity to work on real-life projects, developed in close cooperation with professionals in the cultural sector.

This new approach creates a direct link between the training programme, cultural institutions, and audiences, ensuring that the projects are grounded in the actual needs and realities of Luxembourg’s cultural landscape.

Since 2022, the cultural mediation training has enabled more than 30 participants to acquire solid skills in:

  • audience development and engagement,
  • understanding the cultural landscape in Luxembourg,
  • designing and implementing mediation activities,
  • developing a complete project evaluated by a panel of experts.

Until now, most of these projects remained at a theoretical level. With this call, we aim to:

  • reinforce the practical and professional dimension of the training,
  • encourage collaboration between institutions and future cultural mediators,
  • support projects with potential for real implementation,
  • enrich the cultural field with new ideas in mediation.

All cultural organisations based in Luxembourg are invited to participate, including:

  • public institutions,
  • non-profit cultural associations (ASBL) active in the cultural sector.

No detailed project is required at this stage: you may submit a simple idea, a concept, or an initial mediation approach. The participants of the training programme will then further develop the project together with your organisation.

Several participants may choose the same proposal. This is not a competition, but an educational exercise designed to support learning and practical experience.

Interested organisations are invited to submit a project outline (PDF available at the bottom of this page), including:

  • a brief description of the context,
  • the mediation idea or challenge,
  • the target audiences,
  • the intended objectives,
  • any internal partners involved.

The outline should remain simple and concise. It will serve as a working basis for the training participants as they develop the project further.

  • 30 January 2026: Deadline for submitting your project proposal.
  • February – May 2026: Participants of the training programme select a project and collaborate with your organisation to develop a mediation activity.
  • May 2026: Presentation of all projects before a jury.

Three projects will be selected and will receive financial support of up to €10,000 each.

Projects that are not selected may still be submitted under other Œuvre grants, provided they meet the criteria of those grants.

Projects developed by the participants will be assessed based on:

  • their creativity,
  • their educational relevance,
  • feasibility,
  • potential impact on audiences,
  • financial planning,
  • feedback from the partner cultural organisation.
