Created to take concrete action against food waste, on.perfekt SC SIS collects food that is still perfectly suitable for consumption from producers, retailers and other local partners, giving it a second life. Unsold products are redistributed in the form of vegetable boxes, delivered to homes or collection points across the country. They are also available for direct sale in the grocery store in Marnach, near Clervaux. The project operates at the intersection of the circular economy and solidarity, transforming surplus food into useful resources.
On a daily basis, on.perfekt manages the collection, sorting, storage and redistribution of fruit, vegetables and other food products. This logistical chain lies at the core of the initiative: without sufficient storage capacity and an appropriate organization, sustainable redistribution is not possible. Activities rely on the work of employees, the commitment of around ten volunteers and a constantly evolving network of local partners.
It is precisely at this level that the first limitations appear. As the number of partners and the volume of food to be collected increases, some products can no longer be picked up or redistributed due to insufficient storage space and logistical capacity.
We are regularly confronted with situations where products have to be refused, even though they could still be consumed.

This gap between impact potential and available resources gradually becomes a point of tension. The existing infrastructure, designed for the launch phase, is reaching its limits. Storage areas are insufficient, logistics rely largely on manual processes and management tools remain only partly digitalized. These constraints lead to missed opportunities and make visible the very waste the project seeks to address.
A strategic decision therefore becomes necessary: to structure and professionalize logistics in order to scale up. The expansion project includes the development of a warehouse, the acquisition of appropriate equipment, the digitalization of flow management and the provision of a dedicated collection vehicle. The objective is clear: to increase recovered volumes while improving the quality, consistency and reliability of redistribution.
This development directly benefits several groups. Local producers gain a stable solution for surplus food. Consumers have more regular access to fresh, high quality products. Volunteers benefit from more structured and sustainable engagement conditions. In the longer term, the logistical expansion will also make it possible to create a logistics assistant position, strengthening the project’s operational capacity.
To date, on.perfekt has already saved more than 52 tons of fruit and vegetables. With the planned expansion, the organisation estimates it will be able to recover at least 40 additional tons per year, while improving safety, quality and traceability.
Beyond the figures, the project highlights a key issue: to fully realise its impact, a solidarity based initiative must be supported by appropriate infrastructure.
Experience shows that motivation alone is not enough; it is essential to have the right infrastructure and tools in place to scale up action.
Lisa Albers on.perfekt
In the longer term, on.perfekt aims to become a structured and recognized redistribution platform at national level, capable of creating sustainable jobs, strengthening local partnerships and inspiring other initiatives committed to reducing food waste. A concrete way of transforming surplus into opportunity and turning logistics into a lever for social and environmental impact. on.perfekt remains open to welcoming new volunteers who wish to contribute to this everyday initiative.
