A year of transformation, encounters and commitment

2025 was a landmark year for Œuvre Nationale, marked by tangible progress, meaningful projects and strong collaborations with our partners, our beneficiaries and everyone engaged in the associative and social life of Luxembourg.

All these actions were made possible thanks to the proceeds of the Loterie Nationale, which are entirely transferred to Œuvre and enable us to support our mission of public interest.

Here is a retrospective look at twelve months of initiatives, innovations and collaborations.

A new visual identity to reaffirm our commitment

On 23 January 2025, we unveiled our new visual identity, as well as a complete redesign of our website. This transformation was not merely aesthetic: the objective was to explain our missions more clearly, improve the accessibility of our content, and offer a more intuitive platform for associations, institutions and other users.

The new site provides a simplified navigation, a clear presentation of supported projects, as well as an enhanced transparency regarding our governance, our link with the Loterie Nationale, and our different types of grants.

All year long, we continued to work in depth on the digital accessibility of our site. New features were introduced to facilitate navigation and make our content more accessible to people with specific needs.

This effort will continue in 2026 to ensure increasingly inclusive access to our information.

New expertise for our Board of Directors

This year, two new members joined our Board of Directors: Carine Feipel and Laurent Thyes.
Their expertise and experience strengthen the strategic direction of Œuvre and support its evolution within a constantly changing societal context.

New talents joining the team

2025 was also a year of internal strengthening, with the arrival of Conny Reichling, Chris Reuter and Guillaume Houdremont.

Their skills and diverse backgrounds contribute to supporting the development of our projects and meeting the growing needs of the organisations we accompany.

Imagining a more inclusive society: the “Designing for Diversity” conference

On 12 June, we organised a conference dedicated to the theme: “Designing for diversity: how can we ensure access to sport and well-being for all?” Led by Pete Kercher, expert in inclusive design and ambassador for EIDD – Design for All Europe, the evening opened up an essential space for reflection on the obstacles still faced by many people: visible or invisible disabilities, psychological difficulties, ageing, situations of vulnerability…

Thanks to simultaneous translation and a networking dinner, the event brought together a diverse and engaged public, fostering open dialogue on practical and respectful solutions for everyone.

A clearer and stronger environmental commitment

In 2025, we redefined our environmental positioning to clearly assert our responsibility as an actor engaged in ecological transition. This approach materialised through:

  • the launch of a call for projects dedicated to biodiversity restoration, encouraging concrete renaturation initiatives,
  • the creation of the Greenline, a guiding framework that further supports and highlights projects with a positive ecological impact.

These actions serve as a reminder that solidarity and the preservation of the living world must go hand in hand.

Spotlight on cultural mediation

Together with the Ministry of Culture and the House of Training, Œuvre Nationale has been organising the Cultural Mediation training programme for several years.

On 28 April 2025, the closing event of this year’s course brought together participants, professionals and partners around a shared objective: making culture more inclusive and accessible.

In a warm atmosphere, discussions focused on emerging practices, the challenges ahead and the future of cultural mediation accessible to all in Luxembourg.

To continue supporting innovative projects and preparing the 2026 training edition, we also launched a call for proposals for 2026.

Kannerfest 2025: a day of joy and movement

For the third consecutive year, the Kannerfest was held at Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg, welcoming more than 2,000 children and adults.
Under the theme of movement, the 2025 edition highlighted creativity, play and bodily expression: participatory workshops, fun activities, an artistic performance by Art in Motion, meetings with our partners, and many spontaneous moments of joy and discovery experienced by the children.

We warmly thank all families, volunteers, associations and partners — and particularly APEMH, who manage the parc — for their valuable support.

This event reflects our commitment to creating accessible meeting spaces for families in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

A podcast opening essential conversations

Our podcast Hors d’Œuvre continued to grow with 10 new episodes dedicated to diverse topics: bereavement support, autism, Paralympic sport, music as a way to combat dementia and many more.

The testimonies, analyses and stories shared throughout these episodes helped shed light on often little-known realities and enrich public discussions on essential questions.

Thank you for this year 2025

We warmly thank all the individuals and organisations who contributed to our work this year: associations, institutions, volunteers, partners, families, collaborators and beneficiaries.

Thanks to your commitment — and to the proceeds generated by the Loterie Nationale — 2025 was a year rich in meaningful projects.

We look forward to continuing this momentum in 2026, in the service of a comitted, inclusive and sustainable society.
